A brilliant, medium sized, deciduous tree that is variable in size (10-40m tall). Bright red flowers are produced after the leaves are shed, the effect is of a tree on fire. The shiny green leaves are up to 25cm wide. An attractive specimen tree suitable for large gardens. Young plants are useful indoors. Slow growing in cooler climates & eventual height is somewhat smaller than tropically grown trees.
